I remember a time when I had a closet full of fur. I had jackets, vests, scarfs, hats and full-length coats that were not only the warmest garments to wear during harsh winters, but they were stunningly beautiful. I loved them, then “the movement” hit and it was not politically correct to wear animals on your back any longer.
I bemoaned my fate and resented the fact that I had to give in to the times and reluctantly joined the protest. I belligerently sold my beloved furs to the highest bidder, and let me tell you, it was hard to find takers at the time. However, like so many things in life and “fashion”, what goes around comes around and once again fur is back in, particularly vintage fur.
Here is a fantastic article that I would like to share with you to illustrate this point. I hope that you find it entertaining and enlightening. And, if you are secretly hiding that fur coat in the back of your closet or stashed in a cedar chest, take it out, embrace its beauty and joyously wear it once again!
